Ernie Hudson Snags Recurring Role on Heroes

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

When Heroes needs an actor to play a Baltimore detective, who’s it gonna call?

Ernie Hudson!

The former Ghostbusters star has joined the NBC drama in a recurring role. He’ll play Captain Lubbock, a policeman on the hunt for one of the other characters on the show.

Hudson also portrayed a detective for seven episodes of Desperate Housewives during the 2006-2007 season; he’s guest-starred on numerous shows, including Bones and Private Practice.

As depicted in the Heroes trailer for volume five, the series will introduce a new mythology this fall. It will focus on a traveling carnival of people, all with special powers, led by a charismatic ringleader (Robert Knepper).

Heroes - Will Claire get a new BFF?

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

In June, Hayden Panettiere told SCI FI Wire that Claire will go to college this season on NBC Heroes; now Panettiere reveals that her new roommate could be a female replacement for her first-season pal new Zach.

“We’re six episodes now into the season, and it’s just she develops this friendship with this other girl, this roommate of hers,” Panettiere said in an exclusive interview last week at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Pasadena, Calif. “It’s the only confidante she’s had since the first season, so it’s a great relationship, and I think people are going to really like it and enjoy it. But it’s normal life.”

Claire needs a normal life after three years of Heroes heroics. “She says, ‘I’ve been chasing normal life, and I finally found it. I finally caught it,’” she said. “How long that lasts, I don’t know.”

Even though Claire has moved away from home, she’ll still have visits with adoptive father, Noah Bennet, aka H.R.G. (Jack Coleman). “I go to visit him in one of the episodes, and I’m sure I’ll visit him [again] soon enough,” she said. “It’ll probably go to hell in a hand basket.”

The new mandate for Heroes in season four is to focus more on character stories. It’s a nice change of pace for Panettiere, but she’s already getting restless. “At the same time, I want to go shoot someone,” she said. “I want to go kill someone.”

Some actors have said they are appearing in fewer episodes, but Panettiere has worked a normal schedule in the first six. Beyond the current call sheets, she does not know what producers have planned for her schedule.

“I don’t even want to guess,” she said. “I have no idea the way it’s going to go, what they have planned. I like to be surprised. I’m spontaneous. I’ve been in most of them. Most people have been in most of them.”

Heroes returns Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. on NBC.

Heroes: Ali Larter Marries Hayes MacArthur

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

Heroes
actress Ali Larter and Worst Week actor Hayes MacArthur finally tied the knot Saturday in Kennebunkport, Maine. The couple exchanged vows at an intimate gathering of family and friends in an outdoor ceremony. Irish music reportedly played before the ceremony in honor of MacArthur’s Irish heritage while Larter’s father walked her down the aisle, according to Us Weekly. Among the guests was Larter’s close friend and Varsity Blues co-star Amy Smart.

Larter and MacArthur, who have been together for more than five years, met when they co-starred in National Lampoon’s Homo Erectus. The couple announced their engagement in December 2007.

While it was a lengthy engagement for the couple, taking it slow was not Larter’s choice.

“I told my boyfriend after three weeks that I wanted to marry him and that we could do it tomorrow,” Larter said last year.

“Since I was 15 years old, all I wanted was to find the guy I was going to marry,” the Heroes actress said said in the February 2009 issue of Cosmopolitan. “[Hayes] showed me the way, and all was right. This is how it’s supposed to be… I’m a hopeless romantic.”

Later, who has played Jessica/Niki Sanders and Tracy Strauss on Heroes, will be returning to the NBC science fiction series when it premieres its fourth season on Monday, September 21. She is also in talks of joining the movie Resident Evil: Afterlife, which is reportedly set to begin shooting this fall in Toronto.

On the other hand, MacArthur, who is credited for his guest stint on How I Met Your Mother, Pushing Daisies
and Entourage, can next be seen in the comedy feature This Might Hurt and the romantic comedy film She’s Out of My League, hitting theaters on March 12, 2010.

Robert Knepper: Promoted to Series Regular on Heroes

Friday, July 31st, 2009

Initially signed for just six episodes, former Prison Break star Robert Knepper has been promoted to a series regular on Heroes. Knepper will play Samuel on season four of the show, “the reluctant ringleader of a carnival,” as the actor explained at the San Diego Comic-Con festival last week.

In the wake of his brother’s passing, Knepper added that Samuel “made a decision that his life is not going to be the way it used to be,” as he “one-by-one lures the heroes into helping with” this new plan.

Heroes: Lisa Lackey Shares Her Thoughts on Janice Parkman

Friday, July 24th, 2009

Ever since super-powered baby Matt Jr. surfaced on Heroes, fans have been contemplating on the possibility that Matt Parkman’s estranged wife, Janice, has powers too. It’s not impossible in the world of Heroes but as of shooting the fourth season’s fourth episode, no powers have emerged, according to Janice’s portrayer Lisa Lackey. But even if her character doesn’t have a special ability, Lackey believes that Janice will continue to play an important role on the show because she helps keep the powerful ones in touch with reality.

[During the last two seasons, the characters "got kind of carried away with the powers and the bad guys," Lackey told TV.com. But characters like Janice Parkman bring them back to earth. "My character is trying to be as supporting and as loving as she can," she added.

Heroes writers probably realized that characters without powers may have been the show’s missing element over the last two seasons. Thus, Janice resurfaced and it seems like she’s getting more airtime when the show returns for its fourth season.

“I’m hoping that Janice will possibly have a storyline of her own that is really interesting, and which shows a lot of character and strength on her behalf,” Lackey said.

Matt’s ex hasn’t exactly been the most liked character on Heroes, seeing that she blamed their marital problems over his jealousy of her prospering career while she had an affair with Matt’s ex-partner. And after Matt told Janice of his ability to read minds, she didn’t give him the support —leading to the couple’s divorce. Perhaps this time around, viewers will get to know Janice a little bit better.

Heroes‘ Redemption Volume is set to premiere with a two-hour episode on Monday, September 21, on NBC.

A Major Heroes Death: Confirmed!

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

Before we get to the latest Heroes spoiler news, we feel the need to clear up a misconception: Based on a handful of critical posts related to this show, a few readers have labeled us as “haters” of Heroes. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

We simply watched the first season in awe and have grown more and more depressed with each passing, disappointing volume since. Like a good American questions his country, we aren’t gonna sit idly by and accept the demise of Heroes. Ratings have plummeted; the show was barely renewed last year; Tim Kring himself has admitted that he’s lost track of the series and is writing for characters he never thought would still be alive. So, come on, people.

Instead of blindingly accepting whatever Heroes airs each week, why not join us in challenging the show to return to its roots? We’ve heard that producers and writers often check Heroes forums around the Web to gauge fan reaction. Head over there. Converse will fellow followers. Be pro-active!

After all, E! News has certainly given us something to discuss: the site reports that an “original castmember is leaving Heroes for good before the end of the coming season.”

Who do you think it will be?!?

Hayden Panettierre Previews Season Four of Heroes

Saturday, July 4th, 2009

Rumors continue to circulate that Claire Bennet will be involved in a semi-lesbian storyline next season on Heroes. As you might expect, this doesn’t exactly raise our hopes over the prospects of improvement for the series. In a recent interview with MTV News, Hayden Panettierre doesn’t touch on this subject. Instead, she focuses on a new set of characters that will infiltrate Heroes in the fall.

The next season of Heroes has a lot of characters that are coming in. There’s something called The Carnival… which is kind of the opposite of what The Company was. There’s a lot of new, cool characters.” Claire, of course, will be a college freshman when the new season kicks off. But don’t expect her to wave any pom poms. “She’s trying out this new life and trying to figure out how to fit in,” said Panettiere. “I don’t know that I will ever put on a cheerleading outfit again!”

Heroes: Hayden Panettiere Teases Season Four’s Carnival

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

Though season four of NBC’s “Heroes” won’t start for a few more months, Hayden Panettiere told MTV News that there’s a new mysterious group that fans can look forward to in September: The Carnival.

Panettierre, who plays the title role in July 10th’s “I Love You, Beth Cooper“, is already preparing for more adventures as super-powered cheerleader Claire Bennet.

“The next season of ‘Heroes’ has a lot of characters that are coming in,” says Panettierre, “There’s something called The Carnival… which is kind of the opposite of what The Company was. There’s a lot of new, cool characters.”

The Carnival, judging from leaked casting sheets that appeared on “Heroes” fansites will be represented literally. That means barkers, freaks and –- mostly likely -– more than a fair share of cotton candy.

What do you make of this mysterious Carnival? What direction do you want “Heroes” to go in its fourth year? Share your ideas below!

Who might be the new nemesis for Claire?

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

When NBC’s Heroes returns for its fourth season this September, it will be back-to-school time for Hayden Panettiere’s indestructible cheerleader Claire Bennet: After three years (in TV time), the blond superhero will finally graduate high school and head to college, the actress told reporters.

“She’s in college, and she’s got a great roommate,” Panettiere said in a group interview over the weekend in Santa Monica, Calif., where she was promoting the film I Love You, Beth Cooper. “You kind of don’t know about [the roommate] in the beginning.”

Claire won’t be left alone at school, though. The Company may be out of the picture, but there’s always someone butting in with people’s special abilities. “So there’s this new group of people called the Carnival,” Panettiere said. “They’re kind of the opposite of the Company.”

The Heroes writers’ room is still smarting from the recent abrupt departure of original writer Bryan Fuller, who had returned to the show briefly following the demise of his ABC series Pushing Daisies. Panettiere said she has been less personally affected by the change.

“You know, since I haven’t read all the scripts and haven’t been involved in the writing process the way, obviously, the writers are,” Panettiere said. “We work hard. We work hard, but everyone’s great, and we have a blast together. He’s going off, and he’s doing some great stuff, so we’re all just really proud of him.”

Fans have been complaining about character arcs since season two. I mean, Hiro as a 10-year-old, honestly? Panettiere doesn’t know what everyone’s looking for, but she said she still has faith in the show.

“I think it set a very high bar for itself, and I think it’s very scrutinized now because of just the demand,” Panettiere said. “You know, it’s not an easy crowd to please all the time, but I still enjoy watching the show.”

Heroes returns Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.

Heroes Season 4 - New Spoilers From Filming Update

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

Today we received a tip from someone who happened to be on set during the recent filming that took place at UCLA, which is the location of Claire’s college.

The source claimed that someone would die in the first episode and when I asked them to clarify a bit more, all they could provide to us was to say that this is what was scheduled to be filmed:

“Claire discovers a body on the sidewalk.”

Episode 4×02 was scheduled to start this week, so I am not sure if this scene will take place at the end of the premiere or in the second episode.

Of course who this dead body could be is the mystery and they would not reveal who it was, but I believe there were some previous spoilers about Claire’s roommate possibly dying and that there will be some mysterious deaths in Season 4.

This is a new source so hopefully they are right and we will be able to get more information from them.

So what do you all think!? Could this “body” be Gretchen or some random person that Claire finds!?
